British Glass recently announced that its new president is Stephen Pollock-Hill, group chairman & MD of Nazeing Glass. His future in the glass industry may not have been initially obvious, as he studied languages across Europe in France, Spain & Germany. However, his gap years were spent working for The French Hand & Crystal Federation, followed by St Louis Crystal in Paris. Working for a year in a major US Management Consultancy in 1969/1970 he was headhunted to work as EU Liaison Officer in London by founder John Carney. Stephen started the first factory shop at Nazeing Glass & moved through the ranks becoming sales manager, export director, sales director, joint MD & on to his current position of Group Chairman & MD.
