British Glass has decided to incorporate its well-established Shine Awards into the newly formed competition the UK Packaging Industry Awards, the new Awards created for 2006 by Packaging News to encompass the whole packaging industry. Launched in 2000, the Shine Awards recognised excellence in glass packaging & have been won by many top name brands including Gordon's Gin, Absolut Vodka & Hartley's Jam & were organised by Glasspac, the packaging promotions arm of British Glass. The exciting new UK Packaging Industry Awards will bring together many diverse businesses & sectors involved in the production of packaging, from designers & marketers to material suppliers, converters, processors, packer/fillers & machinery makers. It is the intention that these Awards will embrace the entire packaging community & are to be held on 27 Sept/06 at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole.
