Bottle Celebrates 200 Years Of Beer

Blackburn's historic brewery Thwaites is celebrating 200 years of brewing by expanding its off-trade distribution nationally with a new proprietary glass pack, designed by Thwaites and its agency, butcher Gunderson and produced by OI. The 500ml bottle will be used for most of the Thwaites' bottled brands, including the best selling Lancaster Bomber. OI says the pack "presents the brewer with a new edge intended to broaden the brand's appeal." Thwaites' iconic "shire horses" logo is engraved four times around the shoulder, with he resulting detailed embossing adding a premium feel. The container will also be used for new Thwaites Double Century beer, which has already gained national listings with retailers including Morrisons and Makro.
