Bottega Uses Design Appeal For Slang

Design-conscious grappa producer, Distilleria Bottega, has launched its new Slang glass, devised by company founder and trained designer Sandro Bottega, to allow consumers to "regulate the distallate with the warmth of their hand, the way they enjoy most," according to a Bottega spokesman. The Slang glass has no base as such, but comes to a central point on the bottom, allowing the glass to be rotated on a table top. The product is made in Italy, and currently sold there, in the US and selected duty-free outlets. At the recent TFWA exhibition in Cannes, the company also launched a new presentation of its Sambuca range in a frosted glass, teardrop-shaped bottle, complete with striking green and red artwork on the label.
