Boston And Freising Collaborate

Boston Beer and the Bavarian State brewery at Weihenstephan have worked together on a 10.3% ABV "champagne-like" beer with a crisp acidity which retails at US$20 for a 750ml bottle, named "Infinium." The partnership between the two companies was first announced in 2008 and the beer should have been released last spring but was pushed back to December 2010, following research which showed that given a choice, 60% of men would prefer to toast in beer as opposed to champagne. Two more collaborations are in the pipeline.
