Bormioli Selling Two Plants

Bormioli Rocco, the Italian-owned manufacturer of glass containers and tableware, is selling two tableware plants in France to Sif Investment of Luxembourg. The plants are at Rive-de-Gier and La Chapelle-Saint-Mesmin, and their sale follows Bormioli's closure of its long-established glass tableware factory at Parma in Italy. Tableware still accounts for 40% of Bormioli's turnover, according to CE Alberta Costa, but its French glass business is now focused on the flaconnage containers made by its Verreries de Masiniers business.
