Boost For Russian Glass Container Production

The European Bank for Reconstruction & Development (EBRD) is planning to lend Russia's SiseCam group 37.5m Euros & invest 15m Euros to help expand its Russian glass beverage container production. The money should help build a new glass bottling plant with an annual capacity of 140,000 tonnes in southern Russia. This funding would help SiseCam build a second furnace at the plant, bringing annual production to 280,000 tonnes. An EBRD memorandum has stressed the Black Sea & Caucasus regions of Russia served by the factory have "large populations & significant demand for beverages & containers, but lack an adequate glass bottling capacity."
