BOC has agreed a 15-year multi-million pound contract with glassmaker Pilkington for the continued supply of nitrogen & hydrogen to Pilkington's main UK factory at St Helens. Under the deal, BOC will supply 155/tpd nitrogen & up to 350Nm3/hour hydrogen through a pipeline to Pilkington's float glass furnaces. Dave Gilmore, Pilkington's purchasing director said: "We are pleased to reaffirm our confidence in BOC as a supplier of high quality products & specialist expertise to deliver solutions that maximise the efficiency & quality of our glassmaking. It is vitally important to Pilkington's operations that we are able to depend on security of supply & BOC has provided ample proof of that over time." BOC has been supplying the Pilkington plant for over 40 years & has worked closely with the glassmaker to meet its needs in the UK & around the world.
