Black Glass Booms

O-I's black glass portfolio has increased to 19 products as more beer, wine and distilled spirits makers opt for the product's stand-out effect. O-I began to investigate ways to better protect the contents of a bottle in 2010 and black scored highly on two main factors - aesthetics, and a high UV protection. O-I currently produces black glass at six of its facilities: Brazil, Australia, New York, Atlanta, Ottawa and Scotland, although in theory the practice could be carried out at any of its sites.
