Kedaung Group of Indonesia has ordered $6.6M worth of tableware manufacturing equipment from US supplier, Lynch Systems. Lynch expects the order to produce income for the company for the next 18 months. Based in Jakarta, Kedaung is one of the biggest makers of glass tableware and also makes other types of glass products. It is an unconsolidated federation of more than 30 companies and was founded in 1969 by Agus Nirsalim, who initially operated as a glass importer. Mr Nirsalim is still the chairman. The firm produces 1,650 tonnes of glass tableware per day, on 120 lines making 6,000 different basic products and exports 45% of its annual output of 600,000 tonnes. It also makes glass blocks and other glass products. Lynch will supply an LP-50 24-38 double-gob press and four TT-50 twin table presses and blow machines.
