Automotive Bulbs Witout Lead

All automotive bulbs in the Bosch aftermarket range will now be manufactured without lead. In this voluntary action, the company implements what is currently still being discussed in the EU. In the past, small amounts of lead were added to the glass used to make bulbs for signal, brake and parking lights. The heavy metal also was used for soldering joints at the base. By changing the production process, it has become possible to relinquish the lead-based additives without suffering any deterioration in quality and service life. Halogen lamps for headlights and gas-discharge lamps for Zenon lights already are made without lead. See www.bosch.com
