Astm Standard On Structural Sealant Glazing

Standard C 1401, Guide for Structural Sealant Glazing, has recently been completed by Subcommittee C24.35 on Structural Sealants, part of standards writing Committee C-24 on Building Seals and Sealants of ASTM. Structural sealant glazing (SSG) adheres glass to metal frames without mechanical fasteners. It provides information for system performance criteria, such as applied loads, movements to be accommodated, and tolerances to be considered; system and component design considerations including weatherproofing concepts, metal framing systems and finishes, glass types and characteristics, structural and weather seal sealant properties, and various accessory glazing materials.
