Asahi Plans To Boost European Production

Japan's Asahi Glass Co. Ltd. has announced it plans to spend 7 billion Yen to boost flat glass production by 30% at its Belgian plant. According to a news release, the plant's combined capacity is expected to reach some 1m tons/year. In other news, Asahi has also announced it plans to take full management control of its Philippine glass pane joint venture, the Nikon Keizai Shimbun reported, but did not cite its source.
