Asahi Grows In Japan

Asahi Glass Company has started to build an extra furnace in Japan to produce non-alkali very thin glass for use as substrates in thin film transistor liquid crystal displays (TFT LCDs). The furnace will be built at Takasago in Japan to produce 14M sq/m of glass/year. The firm will then have seven furnaces producing glass for TFT LCDs: five in Japan and two in Taiwan.
