Asahi Glass To Double Taiwan Production

Asahi Glass has announced it is to build a fifth LCD glass manufacturing facility in Taiwan, with a view to building a further five plants to address growing demand for LCD monitors and TVs, according to Taiwan media. The construction of the fifth plant, due to be completed early 2009, is reported to have cost around US$400M. It is intended to supply the country's large LCD-making sector.
