According to the company's website , Arglass is looking to transform the glass container market in the USA by creating a network of next generation manufacturing plants that will be at the same time flexible, efficient and sustainable. With Jose Arozamena's leadership and Stonecourt Capital financial backing, the company has initiated construction of its first glass container plant at Valdosta, Georgia. This is within easy reach of the country's primary spirits producing regions, improving lead times and logistics costs. Scheduled for start up 2019, the plant will have an installed capacity of 123,000 tonnes/year. The concept is based on a "European model" for highly flexible plants, allowing Arglass to produce both small and large runs at competitive prices. Capable of efficiently producing from two to 16 sections in double and triple gob configurations, Arglass plans to offer a wide range of glass colours thanks to its forehearth colouring capabilities, eliminating the need for colour campaigns. In addition, full in-house decoration capabilities will improve efficiency, reducing handling and logistics costs, thus optimising time to market. The factory will operate a state-of-the-art oxy-fuel furnace with best-in-class environmental controls for a reduced environmental footprint.
