Ardagh'S Acquisition Of Rockware Ends Months Of Speculation

Rockware Glass has been acquired by Ardagh plc, the owner of Irish Glass Bottle (IGB) for £240m. The deal is subject to the approval of Ardagh shreholders and was discussed at an extraordianry general meeting on 31 March. Shareholders representing more than 50% of those entitled to vote at the meeting have given undertakings to support the acquisition, which was expected to be completed after this edition of Glass had gone to press.
