Ardagh Turns Excess Heat Into Home Energy

Ardagh Group and Denmark's SE Big Blue energy group have developed a new initiative to use excess heat from its Holmegaard glass production plant to heat more than 1,000 nearby homes. The plant produces 160,000 tons of container glass annually and the heat sharing will reduce the local district's annual CO2 emissions by more than 3,500 tons. "We are constantly reviewing opportunities for sustainability initiatives in other plants and regions," said Ardagh Head of Marketing Sharon Crayton.
