Ardagh Group recently announced that it has completed the purchase of Boxal France SAS, Boxal Netherlands BV and the assets of Szenna Pack Kft. from Exal Corporation for a total consideration of around 85M/Euros. Boxal is a technically advanced aluminium container manufacturer supplying aerosols and bottles to a wide variety of industries including cosmetics, pharmaceutical, food and beverages. It is a recognised world leader in packaging solutions with manufacturing plants principally in France and the Netherlands, and a total annual capacity of 900M/containers. Boxal's state-of-the-art facilities service a suite of global brands including L'Oreal, Coca-Cola, Heineken, Dove, Pantene and Nivea, to name but a few. Szenna Pack has a single facility also making aluminium containers and is located in Hungary. Nial Wall, Ardagh Group CEO, said: "We are pleased to acquire the Boxal and Szenna assets as they will significantly enhance our position in the EU aerosol market. These technologically advanced businesses will enhance our product offering and will add value to our current activities." Ardagh has also acquired the US-based Leone Industries from the Leone family. The acquisition of Leone Industries will increase the size of Ardagh's glass division by around 10%. Leone Industries producers over 500M/containers per year at its facility in Bridgeton, New Jersey.
