Ardagh Glass Toasts 45% Growth - But Warns Of Production Fall-Off

Earnings at Ardagh Glass, the manufacturer controlled by Paul Coulson's Yeoman Capital group, jumped over 45% last year to Euros 262m. Luxembourg-domiciled Yeoman, in which Mr Coulson & his family have a more than 34% stake, announced the figure in its latest set of accounts, highlights of which which were published by the Irish Independent. Yeoman owns just over 39% of Ardagh Glass, which is one of Europe's largest glass container manufacturers, with an 18% share of the market. Ardagh's earnings before interest, tax, depreciation & amortisation (EBITDA) of Euros 262m in 2008 are up from Euros 180m in 2007, according to Yeoman, whose directors also note that Ardagh has been adjusting production capacity to reflect reduced demand for its products due to recessionary effects.
