Recycling & waste management firms are among the many businesses being encouraged to apply for the 2004 Queen's Award for Enterprise. The prestigious business awards recognise success in three categories of international trade, innovation and sustainable development. Firms of all sizes can apply and, as there is no limit to the number of awards available each year, applicants can be assured of a realistic chance of success. Last year's winners included Rockware Glass, recognised for its efforts to increase the use of recycled glass in container manufacture. The 2004 awards will feature a new category. For the first time, nominations are being invited for individuals felt to be worthy of a royal award for contributions to encouraging a UK enterprise culture.
