Anheuser-Busch To Produce Its Own Glass Bottles

US-based brewery giant, Anheuser-Busch, is continuing in its programme to manufacture its own glass beer bottles and is recruiting glass workers for the Jacinto City glass plant. The group has already invested nearly $80m in preparing and modernising the facility which was closed down 4 years ago when it was owned by Anchor Glass. Longhorn Glass, an Anheuser-Busch subsidiary, is responsible for the operation and will take on around 150 people to produce amber long-necked beer bottles which will be shipped to the brewery in Houston. Start-up is expected mid-this year and will help the brewery satisfy increasing demand for bottled beer from the area. (whole item)
