Angolan Glass Company To Invest Us$ 60 Million

Angolan glass manufacturer Vidrul-Vidreira, have announced they will invest US$ 60/m to expand production capacity at the plant. The investment will be used on the installation of two new furnaces to ensure full glass supply in the country. MD Carlos Martins said the plant currently produces 60,000/tpd. "It is imperative to produce more so we can satisfy customers and have about 10% production in stock." Vidrul is the largest glass container supplier for the Angolan beverage industry, exporting some production to several African countries. Around 70% of the raw materials for Vidrul's production comes from bottles collected at rubbish dumps, an activity that occupies a substantial number of people in several Angolan cities.
