A redesigned bottle for Pernod Ricard's Clan Campbell Scotch whisky is the fruit of O-Is state-of-the-art glass design centre at Alloa, Scotland. O-I was selected as lead supplier for the bottle and Alloa welcomed marketing, engineering, design agency and production staff from Clan Campbell, along with O-I NPD and production personnel to see the project through the design centre. The Alloa centre formed part of the company's £25m investment to support spirits customers last year. Employing both bottle and mould designers, the centre allows customers and their Scottish agencies to see and approve 3D renderings of tehir concepts while they attend a design session. The angular bottle design features bold engraving of the Clan Campbell motif and the label features the Coat of Arms of the Duke of Argyll, head of the Campbells, one of the most noble Scottish clans. O-I has developed a family of seven similarly-designed containers from 20cl to 4.5l. A miniature is also available. The design is also the first Clan Campbell to be made using NNPB technology for its mainline sizes, reducing the weight by around 20% over its previous version, improving Pernod Ricard's transportation costs and its carbon footprint.
