Allied Glass'S Brian Mcmillan Joins Advisory Committee On Packaging

Defra has revealed that Brian McMillan of Allied Glass has been co-opted in to the Advisory Committee on Packaging to replace Corus's David Williams. Mr McMillan takes over Williams' position as one of the two raw material manufacturer/reprocessor members of the 10-strong committee that started a four-year term 1st March. "David Williams decided to decline the offer to become a committee member & to make sure the committee could start on schedule Brian McMillan was co-opted in," a Defra spokeswoman said. Mr McMillan joins Andrew Roberts from BPI & M&S's head of packaging Helene Roberts on the committee, which is chaired by Robert Lisney of Irl Consulting Services & was unveiled last month. Defra said the new committee would advise on achieving the goals of last year's packaging strategy & other areas such as producer obligations and life-cycle analysis.
