Allied Glass Uses Moulds Hat-Trick For Whisky Work

Allied Glass Container's design department has used three-part mould technology to produce a 1.75-litre spirit bottle for the Edrington Group's Famous Grouse Scotch whisky. The three-part mould works with the two sections of the mould that form the handle opening on an arc. The front part of the mould, which incorporates the engraving, then opens on a linear plane. The linear plane prevents interference onto the mould opening, thereby ensuring that the embossing is clear and crisp. Allied Glass worked with A&L Rondot in France, the engineering specialist responsible for producing the hinge, a vital component that ensure the satisfactory functioning of the mould.
