Aktis - Glass Container Plant Launched In Russia

Russian trading and production company Aktis was due to launch a new plant for the production of glass containers, with a capacity of 110m units per annum, in Novocherkassk (Rostov region) at the end of August, according to general director Vladimir Baziyan. He added that a total of US$11.6m was spent on the plant, which is being financed by the company's own funds and a credit received from Petrocommerts bank. However, Baziyan refused to divulge the size of the credit received. Currently the company is completing installation of equipment form Italian companies BDF and Glass Technologies, which will allow for the production of calibrated glass bottles from 0.3-1.5 litres. Additionally, Aktis' plans include the construction of a second glass production unit, as a result of which the plant's production capacity will increase to 360m bottles yearly.
