Agc Bor Glassworks: 9-Month Profit Increase

JSC AGC Bor Glassworks, Russia's largest glassmaker, and part of Belgian holding company Asahi Glass Company, has reported increased net profit for the first nine months of 2011 of compared to the same period of last year. Proceeds of the plant in the January-September period increased compared to the nine months of last year, by 0.58% - up to RUB 4.012 billion, while cost decreased by 3.68% - up to RUB 2.684 billion. "For the first nine months of 2011 compared with nine months of 2010 there was an increase of revenue of the issuer associated with the weakening of the crisis and the increase in demand for the issuer in the segment of automotive glass and float glass in the segment, as well as positive dynamics of prices for flat glass the construction and architectural market," according to the company report. AGC (Asahi Glass Company) - the world's biggest concern for the production of glass, producing auto-glass under the brand names AGC Automotive, Asahi, Lamisafe, AP Tech, Splintex, Temperlite, Asahimas - is active in over 20 countries and has 350 subsidiary companies.
