Afg And Cpic To Build Glass Fibre Unit In Bahrain

The Chinese firm CPIC and Bahrain-based Abahsain Fiberglass ME (AFG) will set up a 200,000/tpa glass fibre unit in Bahrain. The first furnace, with an annual capacity of 30,000/tonnes, will be fully operational in summer 2008. The joint venture will build a second 30,000/tonnes furnace in 2008 and will have a 120,000/tpa capacity by 2010, growing to 200,000/t in 2012. With new production locations closer to Middle East customers, the venture will be able to offer more flexibility and quicker supplies than before.
