Advanced Materials For The Glass Industry

Plansee offers a range of high-temperature materials for the melting, homogenizing, feeding and shaping of glass products. Plansee's high-purity Mo glass melting electrodes are used in the electric melting of a variety of glasses, ranging from container to special glass or ceramic fibres. For homogenizing and feeding special glass melts, the firm offers stirrers and plungers in No, Mo-alloys and oxide dispersion strengthened (ODS) alloys. Plansee has also developed SIBOR coating - the only, according to the company, which guarantees 100% oxidation protection during the heat up of the tank until the shielding is completely immersed in the molten glass.
