295G 700Ml Spirit Bottle From Allied Glass

Allied Glass has produced a tall, elegant 700ml lightweight spirit bottle that weighs only 295g. The new bottle is the culmination of a project that began in 1999, when the firm's working weight for a 700ml bottle was 435g. In 2001 the weight was reduced to 406g, before it was cut again to 340g in 2002. The white flint glass bottle is 45g lighter than Allied's previous lightweight container. It is produced on a double gob IS machine using the blow:blow method of bottle production at Knottingley. The next project will be a lightweight 1-litre bottle.
