2002 German Container Market Better Than Expected

The overall German glass container market showed a slight increase in sales in 2002 compared with 2001 according to the first unofficial estimates. The industry had expected far worse results as a slump in domestic demand was forecast, but this decrease was offset by exports which recorded double figure growth for the year compared with 2001.
